    Good

We were on a road trip and wanted to see some places along the way, including Hearst Castle and beaches. We decided to stay at Days Inn San Simeon because of the price and location to the Castle. For the price and location, it hit the spot and we were happy with it. Was it luxurious - no, but then again I wasn't willing to pay the price for the higher end hotels, I simply wanted a clean and convenient hotel. We stayed here two nights and it worked out fine. We had access to the beaches by going across the street, and then again as we drove up Hwy 1.

Suggest a little upgrade to the breakfast by adding fresh fruit, non-fat milk and better coffee. Also, would have been nice to have table and chairs outside our room on patio.

not at all, Hotel's dirty with bugs

Check online for bug reports of this hotels, I wish I did before I book. Got bed bugs bits even after changed the room, hotel stuff refuse to given owner's information nor hotel insurance information nor anything in written! and the owner never called back for settlement. Do not ever use this hotel.

    Superb

Three of the five lamps in my room didn't work, and the small electrical heater (which replaced the non-functioning old gas heater) made too much noise for me at night.

    Very good

The room was big and clean, very close to Hearst castle. The breakfast was good, you just need to go at the right time, sometimes the room can get very crowded.

    Superb

We needed a hotel near to Hearst Castle and Days Inn was perfectly located and excellent value for money. We had a large king room which had been newly refurbished and continental breakfast was included too.

Builders are on site as some rooms are still being refurbished but this didn't really detract from our stay.

    Superb

We needed to find a place to stay near the Hearst Castle on our drive from la to sf and this is the perfect mid-point stop. The room was unexpectedly big, staff very friendly and helpful in getting us the tickets to Hearst Castle. As guests of Days Inn, one can get 10% off at the Big Sur Cafe next door. Free wireless was excellent.

The breakfast was a bit simple, but the self-making waffle was fun.

A comfortable bed in the middle of the sf/la trip.

Traelling a lot across country I'm very familiar with Days Inns - basic and something in your stomach first thing in the morning - travelling - but don't want to buy the place - it mostly turns out to be a fairly good value -this Days Inn met the Days Inn standards expexted!

Good location to stop over on trip between San Fran & LA

    Very good

Good little Motel for a stop over. For a longer stay, I would advise another city as there is nothing to do in San Simeon, push South until Cambria or Cayusco or North in the Big Sur state parks. Room was big and very well equipped. bed was massive and very comfortable. nternet signal was not so great and probably went down in the evening as we could not connect after dinner. It was back up the next morning when the lady at reception probably rebooted the server. good breakfast and good value for money, clearly a plus. motel is well located to go and visit the Catsle and the walk to the beach is only a few hundred yards. The beach is OK and I would say it is not worth spending extra money on other hotel to get the sea view.

The lady at reception could have been more welcoming. I did not impact our stay tho. Internet was not working very well.

    Fabulous

Good location close to Hearst Castle was our principal reason for booking. The Coastal hotels just down the road at Cambrian (Moonstone Beach) have a far more attractive location -- but you pay a lot more for that, so this is a good compromise for an overnight stay. If you arrive in September, as we did, there is an annual colony of elephant seals on the beach just north of Hearst Castle.

Wi-Fi difficult to get in room but fine in office. Steep steps to upper floor if you have cases.

The location was convenient, the room was clean.

I booked a 'ocean view' room. I was unaware that the actual view was of the parking lot - and the ocean, some hundreds of yards distant was on the other side of us1. When I called the hotel as I was on my way, the woman I spoke with was unable to find my confirmed reservation - and repeatedly asked my name. And only after placing me on hold for several minutes was she able to tell me that my resv had been entered incorrectly - my first and last names had been reversed. When things werew 'sorted out' there was no apology or acknowledgement of their error. The breakfast buffet was incomplete, the tables were dirty and no one was attending to cleaning or resupplying. I got the impression that no one even cared. I would not recommend this establishment - and I certainly would not stay here again. .

Both the woman and gentleman at the front desk were friendly and personable. They were helpful with directions and answering questions and the gentleman even walked upstairs to deliver a pair of batteries to me. Very nice people. Very professional.

Cleaning staff could have vacuumed more thoroughly.

Excellent location on the way from San Franscisco to Los Angeles. Near the ocean, beach, Hearst Castle. Hotel was all right for an overnight stay.

Just a suggestion: clean the tables a few times during breakfast: it is a small room, so the tables get easely packed with plates and cups and sticky.
